Sea Fern Details

Location

Our guests describe Sea Fern Cottage as a 'home from home' and a perfect location for exploring the region. One reason for this is that it's spacious and comfortable with a lovely enclosed garden.  You can enjoy barbeques and the rise and fall patio table can be used as a coffee table or at full height for dining.

We are also often told that the cottage and it's location is wonderful, because it's in a peaceful rural street and the back garden leads to a secret path across the fields that takes you directly to the beach at Robin Hood's Bay. There are also a number of walks incorporating The Cleveland Way national trail straight from the door and we're right on The Cinder Track for traffic free cycling. 

Facilities

Sea Fern Cottage sleeps 6 in three bedrooms, two attic bedrooms and one on the ground floor, offering plenty of space for multigenerational holidays with Grandchildren. There are 2 bathrooms, a large shower room on the ground floor and a bathroom upstairs.The beds are large and comfortable with Emma mattresses and can be configured as 4 singles and 1 king or 2 king size and 2 singles.

We're child friendly! There's a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs a full size cot, high chair toys, games, DVDs and two teddy bear to help children settle at night.

For Evening Entertainment we provide books, free WIFI, a Bose speaker and a 50” Sony television set up for streaming music and films with your Netflix or Amazon account. 

Bikes can be stored securely indoors. There are two wall anchors that you can use with your own bike locks. Sea Fern also has a comprehensive range of bike maintenance tools, a work bench and a track pump. 

Everything has been considered to ensure you can have a family adventure holiday without overloading the car with body boards, windbreaks and camping chairs, because these are in the garage for you to borrow during your stay.

The property is well insulated and has central heating, which you can control. There is also a living flame gas fire in the living room for instant heat.

There is a hosepipe in the back garden for washing down bikes, dogs and wetsuits.

We kindly request there is no smoking in the holiday rental and retractable stair gate is provided to help you ensure that your dog remains downstairs.

Parking

There is FREE parking for two cars. The drive is narrow, so we ask that you park at the top, allowing our neighbour to park at the bottom (nearest the garage) to allow for ease of opening car doors. There is additional ample parking to the front of the cottage.

Essentials

You can order your groceries to be delivered by Sainsburys or Tesco or you can stock up directly at Sainsburys in Whitby. The butchers in Slights is amazing and Thorpe Stores opens daily from 8am til 7pm and has milk and does a fantastic bacon butty in the morning.
