Best Guided Walking Holidays for Women UK

Is a Walking holiday for me?
Are you new to walking holidays, but keen explore some of the beautiful scenery we have in the UK? Walking is great for our mental and physical wellbeing. It’s well documented that immersing ourselves in nature is boosts our mood. Our well organised walking holidays will leave you wanting to explore more of our beautiful country.
So why don’t more people go on walking holidays? Let’s address the most common concerns…
Will I be okay on my own?
Yes, absolutely! It’s quite liberating to take off and do something you fancy on your own, because you won’t actually be on your own on a guided walking holiday. We pair ladies up in luxury twin rooms, so there’s no need to worry about single occupancy charges.
Will I be too slow?
Women particularly worry about holding others up. We always work in pairs, so that someone can hang back and walk at a comfortable pace for anyone needing to take it a little slower than the rest of the group, because it’s no fun being left behind.
Will I get lost?
Many tour operators offer self guided walking holidays where the navigating is down to you and this can be tricky when clouds descend and visibility is poor. At Seafern Adventures we offer guided walks, so all you have to do is bring your kit, follow the leader and enjoy lunch stops with a view.
How far and where will we go?
For leisurely walking holidays in the UK, consider sections of coastal paths like the Cleveland Way or the Yorkshire 3 Peaks over 3 days. Aim for 8 - 12 mile walks broken up with leisurely lunch stops midway. By tackling shorter distances you conserve energy enabling you to enjoy the views and explore the area.
Why do I need a guide?
Our guides are walking experts. They know the area really well, so there are options to shorten routes if anyone is tired or the weather takes a turn for the worst. You get to pick their brains about their favourite walks and adventures.
When is the best time to go on a walking holiday?
Popular beauty spots can be crowded, so we only offer weekends outside of school holidays. Spring and Autumn are our favoured seasons for walking. It genuinely can be too hot in the Summer, especially on walking routes where there are no trees to offer shade.
What if I don’t get on with the group?
When you are walking, it’s really easy to get to know the other people in the group. Life stories tend to get shared and this helps the miles pass with ease. With the shared adventure starting from the minute you meet there will be plenty to chat about over a post-walk drink. We start a WhatsApp to share photos and travel plans and it often remains active long after guests have headed home.
