Now we are more than happy walking on the beaches and coastal paths or cycling along the cinder track from Robin Hood's Bay, but for those of you with a thirst for more variety and adventure we've put a list together of fabulous activities you can enjoy this February Half Term when you stay with us at Sea Fern Cottage.  Be sure to take the #seaferncottage teddy on some of the adventures with you - he loves to have his pictures taken when he's out and about discovering something new.  

1. Beach art – self guided

You can entertain children for hours when they are engaged in something creative.  It can also be incredibly mindful and therapeutic for your wellbeing as an Adult.  Working together, as a family, on beach art is a great way to re-connect on holiday and you don’t need to be particularly skilled with a little imagination it’s incredible what you can achieve. 2. Willow Weaving – book a guide

The ancient art of willow weaving is a tranquil, relaxing activity. Learn from an expert how to shape the delicate willow into beautiful coastal designs, seeing your creations come to life as you work during the course of this 3 hour workshop at Sea Fern Cottage.  Make something coastal inspired like a boat or a bird feeder for your garden.

3. Slipper Making Workshop – self guided

Do you always forget to pack your slippers when you go on holiday?  I do! With this self guided workshop you can make your own felt travel slippers! This self guided easy to make kit includes all the parts in luxurious thick woolen felt, pre-cut and pre-punched for easy sewing. All sizes are available from baby booties to adult 14s, so you can really make this into a family activity!

A Bread Making Workshop – with a guide

This 4 hour workshop is suitable for beginners. Working in small groups learn how to making your own croissants, along with some fresh yeasted rolls, pizza for lunch and some delicious cookies.  This workshop is run at a local village bakery and there are limited spaces so request the details early to avoid disappointment.

A Family Fossil Hunting Safari

This 2.5 hour fossil hunting safari is for up to 6 people! Make sure you find the best fossils in a safe environment at Robin Hoods Bay with a professional guide.

Going on a Robin Hood's Bay Treasure hunt

This Treasure Hunt themed walking Trail around Robin Hood's Bay is Ideal for discovering more about this popular holiday destination.  The Trail is approximately 1.5 miles long and takes 2 hours to complete.  There is a mobile phone text service for clue answers if you get stuck, ensuring that no mystery goes unsolved.  This activity is normally £9.99, but free when you stay with us at Sea Fern Cottage.
